One other thing...

Are the problems you are experiencing happening with just this one
document? Or does it happen with multiple other documents?

I haven't had time to test any other, but I suspect this is not the only
one.

Were the problem documents created originally in LibO (or OOo)?

To the best of my knowledge with an early version of OOo.

I've been using LO, OOo, SO, etc. since it was called StarOffice 5.0,
btw.. Impress (or what it was called back then) in StarOffice 5.2 was
very stable and did everything I needed it to do in terms of
presentations... Good old times :slight_smile: Since then every major release had
new bugs that made Impress unusable and I had to wait or the .1 or .2.

What format are the documents? Ie, are they .odp? .ppt? .pptx?

       A couple of suggestions - which work for me :wink:

       #1 - if you need a slide-show, then IrfanView [or XnView] are
programs which have been improving;
          IrfanView makes slide-shows as OO/LO & MsFt once did - with all
the 'bells & whistles' ...

       #2 - if you wish to make a movie-video, then VideoPad Video Editor
will work for you ...

       Each of these are free for the individual user; #2 has a pro-version
which allows saving in various formats [reason ??? ]
          also each can be found at the Gizmo's site -
http://www.techsupportalert.com/ with recommendations, how-tos, ... ... ...

Did you 'save' to the 'download' folder before opening it?

       If you did, then the old version as well as the new version should
be there :wink:
           now (1) delete all of LO ->
                  (2) re-install the older version ->
                  (3) re-install the newer version in a separate folder.

While I wouldn't call it anger, I was honestly surprised that LO 4.0

Not aware of a bug report yet for that wrt. 4.0 - would you be willing
to file a bug report with an example document at
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ please? It could be specific
to some kind of documents.

Ahh, superb!  Thanks for these.  I don't do slide-shows so i don't look around much but i think we have needed links like these for quite a while to give to people having troubles with Impress.
