[3.5.4.2/Writer] CTRL-P shortcut freezes LiBo V 3_5_4_2

Hello,
I have just switched from LiBo V 3.4.5 to LiBo V 3.5.4.2 without any apparent problems except for the following :
I use mostly WRITER to print and fax. Until the upgrade ,I would ,on completing a document, press the shortcut CTRL-P ,select the required printer and print or fax depending on my selection.
As of the change to v 3.5.4.2 when I use the CTRL-P shortcut LiBO freezes up ,no command works ,no printer dialogue shows up and I ,in the end, have to use the ESC key in order to to go back to my document .
As a workaround for printing, the PRINT icon in the standard toolbar will print immediately but will not allow me to select a printer therefore I cannot select a different printer.. The workaround for faxing (which I still have to use as some companies will not deal with e-mail) is to export the document as a PDF, and then I can send it as a fax by selecting the fax option through the printer dialogue of my PDF application.
I have also noticed that the option : Tools/Options/LibreOffice writer/Print, in the setting OTHER (bottom left of open dialogue window) will always revert to FAX (even though I select the NONE option in that dialogue, (since I use the fax printer driver and have no dedicated fax software) once I close the Options dialogue and restart LiBo,
I have also tried placing the Send Default Fax in the STANDARD TOOLBAR hoping that it would work as well as the Print File Directly Icon bur all I get if I try it is the following message:

No fax printer has been set under Tools/Options/Text document/ Print

This option "text Document" does not appear to exist in V 3.5.4.2 Tools/Options or if it does it is cunningly disguised and I cannot find it.
I can only assume that the CTRL-P shortcut starts looking for a non existent printer and also that the the constant reverting to the fax option in in the OPTIONS dialogue is a bug... but has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

Here is my system:
OS: win XP sp3 with all patches
AV: Microsoft security essentials
PRINTER: Lexmark 5400 series
                Epson 1290
FAX: Microsoft fax driver

All drivers are up to date.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this as I am completely at a loss..
Cheers
Henri

The "text document" is LibreOffice Writer" and the path you need to use with a text document opened in Writer (it can be a new one):
Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Print.
The choices for a fax printer in a drop down list.

Dan,
Thanks for the reply. The problem is not so much that I CANNOT set the option NONE in the drop down list of the PRINT options(although that appears to be a bug)
but that the key shortcut CTRL-P freezes and does not go into the print dialogue and therefore I have no drop down option of printers.
So I am still unable to print from that shortcut.
Hope this is clear enough.

Because [Esc] takes you back to the edit window, I think that the print dialog is active but its position is out of visible bounds.
Alt+Space_Key might open the window-menu for the active but hidden dialog. There you might find some way to move it by means of arrow keys. I don't use Windows right now, so I can not test.

Hi
I think on Windows and on Gnu&Linux yiou can right-clcik on it's button (if it has one) in the taskbar/panel (= that strip along the bottom of the screen in Xp that has the "Start" button and the clock on it).  If you right-click on the button there you get a choice to "Move".  Don't press any key or button just move the mouse back into the screen.  I found it almost impossible not to left-click to drag.

It might be easier to change the resolution of the montior to something really tiny and unreadable.  That might make it easier to drag the window into the right area and then reset your resolution.
Good luck and regards from

Am I red-faced!
You are totally right about the invisible PRINT dialog: because I have 2 monitors (the 2nd one not being on all the time) the PRINT dialog was indeed opening in the 2nd monitor which was not turned on at the time. I have now placed the dialog on the main monitor.
So Thank you ,Andreas, and Tom , very much for pointing out that possibility (and how to resolve it) which turned out to be right and for taking the time to reply. Now I shall just write a 100 times :" I will always check my second monitor"
Cheers
Henri

Hi
Lol, i am sure we have all done similar things.  I am just impressed that Andreas spots these things despite also being good with complicated answers.

Copy that sentence with a line break.
Paste into some text editor which can show line numbers and hold Ctrl+V until line 100 is reached.

Hi
+1
If only they had had this on blackboards a few decades ago [sighs]
