hi every one.
one person gave me a very important .docx documents and i wanted to
open it with libreoffice 4.4.6
when i press enter on my document, unfortunately libreoffice
immediately crashed and said the message about crash with unexpected
error and tried to recovered it.
but unfortunately after recovery, imediately again and again crashed!
i tested with libreoffice 4.3.5, 4.3.7 and 4.4.6 and its crash in all
versions 4.3 and 4.4 i think!
i tested with version 5.0.5.2 and i did not observe any crash!
but for many reasons the version 4.3.5.2 is the best version for me
and i prefer to only use this version.
i called that personed and mentioned this issue.
he replyed: its maybe of the table which is on the last page of document.
maybe your program is not compatible with tables.
he removed the table and i could open it with my favorite version
without any problem.
can you please help me whats the problem in this regard and why
libreoffice my favorite version faced crash in the time of openning my
very valuable document?
any help is appreciated and i ask god devine mercy and blessings for you.

You seem to have found the solution to your problem. I gather there have been a lot of improvements to the OOXML (that's .docx, .xlsx, etc.) import and export filters in recent versions.
but for many reasons the version 4.3.5.2 is the best version for me
and i prefer to only use this version.
You're free to use that version, of course, but any problems are unlikely to be fixed. From <https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan> the 4.3 branch went "end of life" (that means no more development or bug fixes) in May 2015, and 4.4 in December. The currently maintained branches are 5.0 and 5.1.

LibreOffice certainly supports tables since very early versions. But perhaps there's something about the formatting of that particular table in OOXML format which triggers a problem in older versions.

I've no idea what the problem is, but from your description it seems to have been fixed in the latest versions so there's not much more that can be done.
Since you have contact with the originator of the document, and he/she sent
you a modified document, why don't you ask them to send you the document in
.doc format? It should open flawlessly.
hi.
because docx is compress format and needs less space.
for this reason, they send me all documents in docx format.

Yes, this is a good suggestion!
Using the file you (nasrin) sent me as an example:
original docx 221KB
saved as doc (in Office 2010) 874KB
doc+zip 193KB
Your best option is to ask your friend to save as doc in MS Office and then
zip. This way both can open and edit the file. You just need to add some
extra steps: extract the file, edit and then compress again.
Saving as ODT in MS Office 2010 (which has a similar size to docx) is
unfortunately not an option in this case: MS Office will ruin the file if
you modify it in LibreOffice.
Hope this helps.
Do you need to work with the document or just read it? Either way, depending on the need, there's a PDF option and you're problems maybe solved.
hi.
it immediately crashes when i want to open it.
i cant read it and even open it!
persian pdf documents is not accessible for blinds!
hi pedro.
thanks so much for your testing.
can you please open it with open office, save it as doc and see the
result when openning in libreoffice?
for me it opens in libreoffice 5.0.5 and also 5.1.0 without any crash!
do you think i should report a bug for it?
when the person removed the table in the last page and sent it for me,
i could open it without any problem.
i think its a bug with some kind of tables in libreoffice!
thanks and god bless you all.

Which format opens in LibreOffice 5.0.5 and 5.1.0 without a crash? From your original message, I thought the original .docx version crashed 4.x versions but opened OK in 5.0.5 and 5.1.0. There's no point reporting bugs against older versions which are already fixed in 5.0.x and 5.1.x, since those older versions won't be updated anyway.
If 5.0.5 and 5.1.0 can open the .doc version but not the .docx version, that may be worth reporting, but you'll probably need to include an example file which triggers the crash for anyone to track down the problem. Be aware that files attached to Bugzilla will be publicly accessible.
hi.
i am not shure, because i did not change any format and i dont know
how to do it.
but, only tested docx file and the docx crashed for me in version and
did not crashed in version 5!
without table it was great and opened in all libreoffice versions
which i tested.

Which means you should switch to version 5. LO 5 is much better, especially in the area of compatibility with MS office documents.
