Hi
Same issue for other languages as portuguese. I found it unsolvable in
many situations: not enough unique letters in long menus or dialogs.
Unless the menus get short (e.g. the Format menu in Calc has 22 entries)
we will get short of unique letters and be obliged to repeat some.
But I don't know if the automatic accelerator algorithm will be an
improvement. Perhaps a subset of the acc'tors should be maintained by
mnemonic associations and leave the rest to the automatic.
But one thing is clear: long menus don't help at all, and should be
reviewed by the UX team.

Hi,
some time ago we discussed here automatic generation of accelerators. I
do not know, if to keep and improve the current accelerators in Slovak
(which are not optimal), or to delete them and to rely on the automatic
option. Does anybody know details of the algorithm used to generate
them? Are they generated for individual menus and dialogs, or is it
done in a global way? What about accented characters - I would prefer to
avoid them, as accelerator they are awkward.
Thanks
Milos
