Adding new locales

Had a request for Frisian (fy) so I added UI_master and Website via the admin panel but nothing is showing. Is the system slow, buggy or did I forget to flick some switch? Did that yesterday so even if slow, would be expecting it to be done by now. Still not entirely at home with the new Pootle admin panel.

Hello,

Any chance that Frisian get's translatable, now that the new year has began?
Would be nice that's translation could begin.

I'm sorry this is taking so long, it's somewhat embarrassing... but while I have the rights to set up new locales, that's dependent on the system working, I can't fix problems like the one we're having.

Anyone else have a status update on this?

yes, sorry for that, guess it's this time of the year that slow us all
but

Anyone else have a status update on this?

Cloph is on vacation still for 2 days, I'll ping him as soon as he is back.

Hi Michael, *,

Had a request for Frisian (fy)

why "fy" and not "fry"? There seem to be three dominant variants...

so I added UI_master and Website via the
admin panel but nothing is showing. Is the system slow, buggy or did I
forget to flick some switch?

It's a change in pootle that I also did stubmle upon when creating the
en-AU project.
pootle now doesn't do any template updating/conversion on its own
anymore, this stuff has to be done on the commandline.

You could have created Frisian files on your system and then upload them.

I did it on commandline on pootle server and the files should now show up.

Not entirely sure what you mean. If this is a new feature rather than a bug

It's changed behaviour - so removed feature if you want...

(Mozilla's instance of Pootle still seems to have working template updating,

Indeed, so they're using an older version of pootle - pootle itself
doesn't update against newer templates anymore, this has to be done on
the commandline/manually.

I'll ask anyway) is this documented somewhere (the command line process and
how the manual creation works)?

for new projects it is running pot2po
http://docs.translatehouse.org/projects/translate-toolkit/en/latest/commands/pot2po.html
(or if there is existing translations maybe pomigrate2)

At the moment, it seems that you are the
only one (at least on this list) who knows how to handle this, which can be
a bit of a stumbling block.

Nah, creating po files from pot files is pretty standard - it is just
that you have to do it yourself now, and pootle doesn't do it anymore.
I am one of the few with direct shell access to the pootle server, but
using the pootle server isn't necessary (as you could upload files)
