[ANN] LibreOffice 5.2.0 RC2 available

Dear Community,

The Document Foundation is pleased to announce the second release
candidate of LibreOffice 5.2.0. The upcoming 5.2.0 will be the first
release of our fresh 5.2 line. Please be aware that LibreOffice 5.2.0
RC2 has not been flagged as ready for production use yet, however feel
free to give it a try instead of 5.0.6 of 5.1.4.

A work-in-progress list of new features in LibreOffice 5.2 can be
found at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.2

The release is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X from our QA
builds download page at

  http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Windows builds are also provided in 64bit version.

Developers and QA might also be interested in the symbol server for
windows debug information (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg
for
details)

Should you find bugs, please report them to our Bugzilla:

  https://bugs.documentfoundation.org

A good way to assess the release candidate quality is to run some
specific manual tests on it, our TCM wiki page has more details:

Let us close again with a BIG Thank You! to all of you having

been possible without your help.

Hi,

Test please.

LibreOffice Version: 5.2.0.2
Build ID: a7567a46e5d2953c320b13eb88a3981c4f9bd1e0

1. Start Writer

2. Select menu View - Toolbars - Classification

3. Tollbar has untranslatable items

3.1. Label

"National Security:"

3.2. Contents of three dropdown lists

"Non-Business"
"General Business"
"Confidentional"
"Internal Only"

Cannot locate these items in Pootle. How to translate them?

"National Security:"
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sfx2/source/view/view.src#116

Context for neighbor "Export Control:" item seems broken:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/ru/libo_ui/translate/sfx2/source/view.po#unit=109168746

Context:
view.src
STR_CLASSIFIED_NATIONAL_SECURITY
STR_CLASSIFIED_EXPORT_CONTROL
string.text

May be something goes wrong on message extracting.

Hi Serg,

[…]
Cannot locate these items in Pootle. How to translate them?

"National Security:"
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sfx2/source/view/view.src#116

Indeed - that string is missing from the pot files/has not been
extracted from the string. It should show up in sfx2/source/view.po
just as the other strings of that file.

Context for neighbor "Export Control:" item seems broken:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/ru/libo_ui/translate/sfx2/source/view.po#unit=109168746

Context:
view.src
STR_CLASSIFIED_NATIONAL_SECURITY
STR_CLASSIFIED_EXPORT_CONTROL
string.text

May be something goes wrong on message extracting.

Yep, and I think I know why - the semicolon was misplaced, Olivier
already committed a fix:

https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/commit/ee24e7f2b689bf0f63ba618fc7ee7ac6bc644172

So should be translatable after next update of templates.

ciao
Christian

Also, this toolbar background around the three dropdown lists is not the
same as with other toolbars on OSX, as if it is not transparent/using
themes for background.

Hi Serg, all,

There is a sample.xml in the source that can be lozalized.

Not sure what you mean here without looking into it.

Hi Martin,

Also, this toolbar background around the three dropdown lists is not the
same as with other toolbars on OSX, as if it is not transparent/using
themes for background.

Please file an issue.
Another issue with invisible buttons has been resolved in the mean time

Hi, all,

There is a sample.xml in the source that can be lozalized.
See https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100352

The funny thing is that for Slovenian this xml is already localized and
included in RC3, but still the string "National Security" appears in
English (as can be seen in the attachment to the bug I filed about the
toolbar background, see below).

Actually, I can see this string "National Security" only in help po files,
but not in the UI po files. And this string is also not present in that xml
file. Is it possible it is not in pot nor in the xml file at all i.e. it is
currently not localizable?

Oh, and the toolbar bug report:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101043

Thanks, m.

Just an update, with an update of po files to current 5.2 git state there
are four fuzzy strings in sfx2/source/view.po and "National Security:" is
one of them. So this has been fixed in source, just needs to be translated.

Lp, m.

Hi,

Thanks.

Update of po files to current 5.2 git state doesn't bring new
"Gallery" (should it?)

LO 5.2.0.2 has some untranslatable "Gallery":

1. Writer:
-- View - Gallery
-- Insert - Media - Gallery

2. Calc:
-- Insert - Media - Gallery

3. Draw:
-- View - Gallery
-- Insert - Media - Gallery

4. Impress:
-- View - Gallery
-- Insert - Media - Gallery

LO 5.2.0.2 has some untranslatable "Fontwork":

1. Writer:
Insert - Fontwork

2. Calc:
Insert - Fontwork

3. Draw
Insert - Media - Fontwork

4. Impress
Insert - Fontwork

And why others differ from Draw (Insert - Fontwork vs. Insert - Media
- Fontwork)?

Hi,

LO 5.2.0.3 fixed "Gallery" and "Fontwork" translation.
Sorry for inconvenience.
