AutoCorrect

Hiya,

This is two questions in one, my bad

First off, there's a problem with Basque and autocorrect, friend of mine is forever having the Basque word "agian" turned into "again" and after some toing and froing, we spotted that apparently the Basque "Auto-replace" table is the English one (screenshot here http://imgur.com/a/fVZeF#jCk4m0C) which seems a rather bad idea. The Basque team should look at that!

I remember OO had a number of strange bugs like that for the original localization into Gaelic (incl. a UI but no locale xml data...) - perhaps someone should check in general if there are any localized version where the English AutoReplace table has been assigned to the wrong locale?

The other question is, if I wanted a small set of autocorrects form my locale, how would I go about that?

Cheers,

Michael

Hi Michael,

All Basque autotext files were in English in the source. I removed them.

The other question is, if I wanted a small set of autocorrects form my
locale, how would I go about that?

Checkout the source, go to extras/source/autotext/lang, create gl/acor
directory. See what other languages have in that directory, figure out
the syntax, and create gl content. The acor_xx.dat files in the
install set are zip archives of these directories, so you can try out
your work instantly in your installation.

That was quick - thanks. I presume that will be in the next minor update automatically? Does that mean we should close these two bugs https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60697 ?

And thanks about the info on how to do AutoCorrect, I'll check it out!

takes effort to find, but more info about autocorr dictionaries is available here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice_Localization_Guide/Advanced_Source_Code_Modifications#The_Autocorrect_Dictionary

Hi,

I wonder if case sensitives substitutions can be done with Autocorrect
files.

For example,

"y -> i" substitution could be fine for Catalan, but "Y -> I" is not fine.

honestly, I don't have a clue. Perhaps Andras knows the right person to ask this question?..

I'm not sure I understand the problem. I added a rule from the UI to
replace "y" to "i". It replaces "y" to "i" but does not replace "Y" to
"I". It is case sensitive.

Best regards,
Andras

Great!! In old OOo 1.x days, we have "y" to "i" rule in bundled
autocorrect, but it wasn't case sensitive, and the counter effect "Y" to
"I" appeared.

Thanks booth for quick reply.

I'm packaging Autocorrect data for Catalan, I will open a bug in few
minutes requesting to add Catalan Autocorrect,
