Calc paste funnies

Hi All,

In experimenting with an issue on another thread (convert text to
number by multiplying by 1), I created a new spreadsheet to test the
issue. I had a spreadsheet open, and clicked the icon at the top to
create a new spreadsheet for testing. I had already done this a couple
of times, tested a bit, then closed the new spreadsheets. This time,
however, the new spreadsheet doesn't want to copy and paste correctly.

When I select copy, everything works as expected, the cell gets a
dashed border. If I ctrl-v, it pastes. But if I right-click, there is
no "Paste" or "Paste Special", only "Paste Only", with nothing in that
submenu. On the main menu at the top, under "Edit", "Paste" and "Paste
Special" are greyed out.

It was a little strange, so I opened another new spreadsheet to test,
and that one worked fine. I noted that if I copy from the problem
spreadsheet, I can paste fin into the new spreadsheet, but if I copy on
the new spreadsheet, I still can't paste in the problem spreadsheet.

Anybody recognise the symptoms? I still have the problem
spreadsheet open, so does anybody know where I can start looking to see
what's special about this spreadsheet?

Paul

Hi Paul,

When I select copy, everything works as expected, the cell gets
a dashed border. If I ctrl-v, it pastes. But if I right-click,
there is no "Paste" or "Paste Special", only "Paste Only", with
nothing in that submenu. On the main menu at the top, under
"Edit", "Paste" and "Paste Special" are greyed out.

I do experience this every now and then, however could not reproduce
it reliably, which makes it difficult to report a bug.

Stefan

Well, definitely a bug.
My machine crashed with the offending spreadhseet open, and after
rebooting and recovering the documents I had open, that spreadsheet no
longer exhibits the strange behaviour.

Must log in to bug tracker sometime and see if anything relevant has
been posted.
