Hey,
When i am creating a diagram i can change the numeric values of the y-axel,
but when i try the same procedure for the x-axel, the template with options
stay grey and imposible to change. How can i do to make this grey area
black again so i can change the numeric values?

My main reason for replying is because this message went straight to my spam fodler, along with quite a few others today.  Normally nothing from this list goes to my spam folder but every few months i get a day like this.

So, i can't give  useful answer but i guess it would be good to ask which version of LibreOffice you are using and which operating system?  Sometimes the Windows version of LibreOffice is a little different from the other one.

You are likely using the wrong chart type for your purpose. Try it with an XY chart, sub type lines.

Change the chart type to x/y-scatter chart.
Ignore Tom Davies. He is the most verbose ignorant on this list.

Magnus,
It would be good to know more about what you want to do (chart type you want to use, information you want to get ouf the chart), what you exactly did (chart type you selected, data ranges and all steps you did), and what kind of data do you use for which axis.
With this information (and the LO version information) help should be possible.

Ty for all help, but i want to make a bar diagram X/Y wise. Should i send a
screenpic of the grey area and the diagram? Sometimes a pic can tell more
then text.

I am now sending 2 pics, first shows how i want it, Where i can change the
values, (Y-axel) Second file is the malfuncional one? (X-axel) When i do
same thing on another computer i get Y-axel choices in grey, when i try the
x-axel ,which doesnt allowe me to change the values. On this comp i get
what you see on X-axel pic. Problem remains in other words.

I am not sure if i understand your problem correct but try to give you and answer based on my understanding.

I you want to change the range for the x-axis you need (also in MS Excel) to change the range and you cannot do this in the window (X-axis) you opened, You must expand you x-axis data range beyond cell A10 to cover the entire range you want to see in the chart.

Right click on the chart
select data range
select data series
select categories and expand the range here. You can keep the new cells empty or continue from 10 to where you want to go.

LO Calc works correct. The mathematical logic in LO is correct.

If my answer does not help you, could you please explain why you want to do what?

ok now to the problrm in detail, In the original file that i want to
change, i have numbers 1-35 on the x-axel, which all shows in the diagram,
What i now want is to show only every 5 numbers (0.5.10 etc) so its easier
to read the chart. in pic Y-axel, i can change max/minimum range ,
intervalls between numbers etc. But when i try the same in x-axel i dont
get the alternatives to change them, as shows in the pic x-axel, the
options arent just there. btw i didnt mean that it as malfuncioanal
program, since its greatly done, but sometimes there are issuses needed to
improve.

Now I understand you.

Im afraid there is not such a solution you are looking for. Charts in general are based on a defined data range for the x-axis where all data on this range are includeded. But you want to make a data selection using a chart. You real task, the seclection of data (your x-axis data) is one step before making a chart.

I am afraid you have to do this manually or using a selecting criteria which allows you to pick up every 5th set of data and create a new x-axis with the relevant data on for the y-axis.

As you have only a data set of 35 and need to select only 7 data sets, I would simply do this manually. It's a 5 minute job.

i think i get how you mean, if i understand you right using your method
will get me one bar on 0, one bar on 5, one bar on 10 etc. I want the bars
to be on varius places on the x.axel depending on the chart i am doing, but
i want only to see every fifth number on the x-axel line. For example say i
want one bar on position 3 on the x-axis but that number shouldnt be shown
on the axis,

I indeed understood that you want to show the y-value of every fifth x-value. However, it seems you don't want to stick with the pattern but want to be more flexible.

In general a graph displayes the correlation between a series of x-values and their related y-values. The x-axis is in any spreedsheet is a continuum of cells. If your dataset has more x-values as you want to show in the chart, then a selection of data needs to be made in a way that you have at the end of continuum of cells for the x-values. Therefore a manual selection made or a smart formular or macro needs to be made to create this continuum of cells filled with x-values which you want to show in your chart.

Here is a last idea, which could possibly be of use.
Create the chart with the full set of data you have. Select the bars you want to show. Change the color of these bars to put emphasis on them.
