Can you set a default size for a new spreadsheet?

I have most spreadsheets set to a standard size that takes about half a
screen. If I have one open and open a new one it is also half a screen.
However, if nothing is open a new one opens to full screen and that
resets ALL the other spreadsheets, which is a major pain. I have
checked preferences and cannot find anything that will allow me to
correct this. If no other sheets are open, I would like a new sheet to
open in my standard size.

IDK if that's possible from within LO. but under Linux, it's possible
to use the Window Manager to force the app to open its window to a
certain size. From your User-Agent header, it seems you're using a Mac,
maybe the Mac's OS has something similar.

I'm not aware of anything like that, although it may exist.

Hi
If you are on Ubuntu 12.04 or more recent (and probably 10.04 did it but i
just didn't notice at the time or forgot), or on Win7 (possibly Vista too)
or probably any version of Mac or iThings then ...

Grab the title-bar of the 1st one and drag it sharply off right (or off
left).

Once the mouse reaches the edge of the screen the LibreOffice window should
snap to fit the relevant half of the screen. Top&bottom halves don't work
the same way, unfortunately.

Hi
OOOPS!!

I was worng! Mac hasn't had it for years after all! I really thought it
had. I think i have seen is an add-on app for Mac.

This article gives 1 that kinda pushes you into buying the 'proper' version
http://www.addictivetips.com/mac-os/snap-windows-at-left-or-right-side-of-screen-in-mac-tilewindows-lite/

This thread gives more tools that do the same sort of thing and some look
better than others
http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/50330/how-to-arrange-two-windows-easily-to-left-and-right-side
it doesn't describe it quite so well as the 1st link which is the only
reason i included that 1st link.

This link confirms some and maybe gives another
http://superuser.com/questions/14982/how-do-i-quickly-position-two-windows-side-by-side

That last link taught me an even easier way on Ubuntu (and some others) is
to use
Super Ctrl and the arrow keys
to snap the window in different ways. I don't have a "Super" key just one
that used to be a "Windows" one but now has a penguin painted on it (in my
dreams at least) (i've never dared actually do it jic MS "get me" for
patent infringement)

Hi Robert,

From what I recall, this is a hardcoded setting in either :

- one of the configuration files ;
- in the soffice bootstrap (rc) file.

How can I find/change these on a Mac? Are they in the library or the
package contents? I am not finding anything obvious.

If anywhere, it'll probably be in the package contents.
