Cannot change spacing in Math

Hello!
I have a problem: it is impossible to reduce the spacing in the LO
Math settings.

I go to "Format" --> "Spacing..." , then choose "Borders" in the
"Category" drop-down list, and see that the settings are:

Left: 125.93mm
Right: 249.32mm
Top: 249.37mm
Bottom: 1.03mm

and I cannot reduce them (see attached screenshot). Is this a bug?
And what is more important -- is there a way out of this terrible
situation?

  Regards,
    Vladimir

I found a solution. Well, maybe not a "solution", but a quick
workaround.
In order to set the sane values for the borders in the formula one
should go to
"Tools" --> "Options..." --> "LibreOffice" --> "Advanced" --> "Expert
Configuration"

  And find the items

/org.openoffice.Office.Math/StandardFormat/Distance - LeftSpace
/org.openoffice.Office.Math/StandardFormat/Distance - TopSpace
/org.openoffice.Office.Math/StandardFormat/Distance - BottomSpace
/org.openoffice.Office.Math/StandardFormat/Distance - RightSpace

then press "Edit" and set the values in hundredth of mm (100 - is 1mm).

Still, this way seems a very very unobvious to me. And the question of
why isn't it possible to change these values in the respective dialog
window remains. Should I report to Bugzilla about this issue?

No, the setting is available in the UI, see chapter "Changing the appearance of formulas" in MathGuide 4.0. http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/

Kind regards

Hello!

No, the setting is available in the UI, see chapter "Changing the
appearance of formulas" in MathGuide 4.0.
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/

As I mentioned in my initial message, it does not work. There *is*
the dialog window where the user is supposed to change these values,
but it is impossible to change them there for some reason. At least, on
my machine. That's the point.

Which version do you use. There was the bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75525 and the bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77706.

In Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 4011b74eb7650a0eeb99d3acebb9ef60b0fcaab9
TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2014-07-18_03:54:18
it works.

Kind regards
Regina

Hi
Sadly attachments don't reach all the people on the mailing list. You can
upload it somewhere and give us a link. Nabble is a good way of doing it
because it injects the right coding directly into the message-box for you
and lets you edit it or move it around.

To get to Nabble from the main LibreOffice site go through the getting help
page and somewhere around where it talks about mailing-lists it gives a
link to Nabble.

Thank you, Regina!
Indeed my problem looks exactly as it is described in those
bug-reports. I still use the 4.2.3.3 version. I'll try to update as
soon as possible.
