Can't resize videos in Impress

Hi -

I'm using 3.4.3 under Win 7 64 bit.

I suddenly found I can't resize videos in order to expand or shrink
the size shown in a presentation.

There's a drop down box on the Media Playback toolbar that (from
memory) used to offer options of 100%, 200% or scaled. I used to be
able to choose "scaled" and then resize the video however I wanted.
Last week it suddenly stopped working, and the drop down box is greyed
out.

Any presentations I made in the past still have videos correctly
resized, but I can't scale anything new.

Anything I can try to get it back?

Thanks for replying. Yes, I have tried renaming the user profile, but
the video problem remains.

Any other suggestions?

I can confirm that it is not possible to stretch a video beyond 100% (it will
just resize the box, but not the video) in LO 3.4.4 under Windows (in my
case XP SP3 x86)

You can however shrink the video. So the conclusion is that it can
interpolate but not extrapolate the image (also called upscaling)

Since you mentioned that you used to be able to do this with LO, and I
assume you don't want to go back to version 3.3.4, I suggest that you
download version 3.3.4 Portable and use it to solve your problem.

Since this is a regression I suggest that you could submit a bug report.

you've nailed it. I'm using 3.3.4 on a pen drive, and I can stretch my
videos again!

You could also try using the new and improved Bug filing UI at
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/

Also, it does seem to be a platform specific bug as scaling video using
Linux - Libo 3.4.4 is working here, no problems - scale down and up.

I sure will use it next time I find a Bug (not that it's likely that I find
one :slight_smile: )
The extensive list of "Related Bug Reports" is not very friendly though...
Maybe that should be removed and left to the triager?
