Change default PDF export directory

Hi all. In Kubuntu 10.10 the default save directory for PDF export is here:
~/.libreoffice/3/user/gallery/

How does one change that directory to simply $HOME? Thanks!

(note: simply saving in $HOME does not work, upon closing and
reopening LO the export directory reverts to the gallery)

~/ should be your home
steve

I know that. How do I make that the default PDF export directory?

The default path for PDF export should be the same as:
Tools>Options>LibreOffice>Paths>'My Documents'. What do you show as the
path there?

Sorry, misunderstood the question. My pdf exports are always to the directory of the document.
Looking deeper, a new untitled document tries to export to gallery.
A saved document or previously opened document that is opened saves the pdf to the directory of the document by default.

Dotan?
What do you show as the path there?

I guess it wasn't important after all...

Thanks. It turns out that LibreOffice is saving exported PDF files not
in the configured "My Documents" but in the configured "Graphics". If
you can confirm this on a non-Ubuntu install then I'll file a bug at
LO.

Sorry Gary I've just been swamped lately. Things are falling apart.

Which version? I can check on:
3.3.2
3.4b2
3.4b3
3.4b4
3.4b5

Gary

I'm on 3.3.2, but you can see if the latest beta has the issue.

I had Win7 open on a partition & it has 3.3.2 on it that I've never
used. Path in tools is C:\Users\<user>\Documents. Export to PDF defaults
to /roaming/libreoffice/3/user/gallery - or whatever the equivalent is
in Windows. So on that one it is defaulting to gallery.

Purging LO on an Ubuntu 10.10 & installing 3.3.2 & will get back to you
in a few minutes.

3.3.2 (linux) defaults to exporting to
/home/<user>/.libreoffice/3/user/gallery

Looks like a bug to me. I'll purge 3.3.2 and test with 3.4b5 (note I
have to purge & do clean installs to ensure that no old config
files/profiles affect the testing).

Note: when I say purge, that means I also purge ~/.libreoffice so no old
user profile exists either.

OK. It does the same on:

(U)LO (that's the version that comes with natty)
LibreOffice 3.3.2
OOO330m19 (Build:202)
tag libreoffice-3.3.2.2, Ubuntu package 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5

It does not use gallery on the yet to be pre-released dev-LO3.4b5 - that
defaults to /home/<user>Documents.
LibreOffice 3.4.0
DEV300m103 (Build:5)

So let's try with the pre-released 3.4b4:
LibreOffice 3.4.0
DEV300m103 (Build:4)
that also defaults to /home/<user>Documents.
So it looks as if it's been fixed between 3.3.2 and 3.4.x.

Great, thanks. I'll test it in the release on a clean profile when it
comes out just to verify.

Have a peaceful weekend!
