Changing Default Page Size

Please could somebody tell me where to change the default page size. I am in UK and want A4 as the default but I keep getting "letter".
I do not wish to create a new template and put it in "My Templates" and make that the default. I want to change the default setting at the lowest level possible.
Where is this set please?

You could also change the page style, but the above should work.

The lowest level possible IS the default template. You may try do modify
the template on the install folder (search for Default.ott), but you'll
need administrator rights to do so. And, well, that's cheating: you'll be
changing the default template after all.

That's just a shortcut to change the default page style on the current
document.

And you will probably find it gets changed back after your next update of LO.
The best way really is to create a new template, set your preferred page size, margins, font and styles. Save it somewhere to use again after your next LO update and you can keep your documents consistent.

P.S. Did you install the UK version, my default page after install is A4 but I don't like the margins or font so set my template as default.

As I understand it, and perhaps I am misguided, the default page size is
locale dependent. In other words, if you download the US version of
LibreOffice (the default dependent on your browser identification), but
don't install the language packs for en-GB, then your default
installation will use Letter as the default page size, instead of A4.

If you are still getting Letter as page default even after having
installed a en-GB version of LibreOffice, then this would be a bug that
needs reporting (if not already reported).

Hi
It's not clear which Operating System is being used so it's probably some
version of Windows. Windows assumes you are in the US by default and it's
rare to find anyone bothering to change it's default.

Somewhere in the Operating System's settings there may be a
"Regionalization" or "Regional" or "Locale" setting that you can hopefully
change to anywhere outside the US to make the printer switch to A4. The
printer may have it's own set of settings which should be updated by the OS
or LibreOffice so it probably doesn't need to be configured separately but
if you are using Windows it may be stubborn and need setting.

So, please let us know which OS if you want us to be more specific about
where you "Control Panel" or whatever is and how to set it.
