Check Template

Has anyone tried to create a check printing template that includes the correct OCR numbers and symbols for the check routing, etc.?

Are you sure this would be any use to you? You are in the United States, and cheques there (along with in some other countries) use not an optical character recognition (OCR) font but instead a magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) one. I imagine that the MICR E-13B font used could be read optically, but it is presumably still generally read magnetically. Your bank may well not be happy accepting cheques that are not printed using magnetic ink. Do you have the appropriate ink or toner to achieve this?

I trust this helps.

Your bank may well not be happy accepting cheques that are not printed using magnetic ink.

In the United States, banks have a special surcharge for check
processing. Magnetic ink, or lack thereof, is irrelevant.

I've seen photographs of bank foyers from the 1950s, which had a sign
listing the charge for checks written on live animals, and animal skins.

Do you have the appropriate ink or toner to achieve this?

To quote Apple: "There is an app for that".
Specifically, one installs the bank app on one's phone, takes a picture
of the check, then submits it as a deposit to one's checking account.
