Checking Grammar

I have installed After the Deadline and Lightproof, but neither seems to
work.
Do they need activation?

Unfortunately, we can only use one grammar checker at a time, although we may
install more than one (besides the inbuilt LightProof). Decide on one and
select it while disabling others at Tools - Options - Language Settings -
Writing Aids
