Colour Palette Problem

All:

I'm working on a colour palette, and about a quarter of the colours
automatically turn to black. These colours are from the entire spectrum,
albeit far from websafe colour values.

I'd appreciate if somebody else would test the palette on their system,
and tell me if the same thing happens to them, on their system.

The palette can be downloaded from
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/Colour Palettes/hwa.soc
(You may need to register with groups.io. My usual cloud storage places
aren't playing nicely with my system.)

Jonathan,

Some simple syntax issues with the color palette.

line 230 & 235 the closing comments must be " -->" you have them as "--->"

Also, from line 156 -> 239 the colors are not formatted correctly, they
each need a "#" inserted before the RGB. Without the #, the colors are
parsed as black "#000000".

Make those changes and when parsed the XML will render the full palette.

Thanks.
I should have guessed it was something trivial, and easy to overlook.

Hi
Spaces in names, particularly in Urls, can cause problems on many systems.
I saw the link as
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/Colour
which presumably doesn't work.

Sometimes the space gets replaced by a %20 which makes the url unreadable
to normal users as they get a bit scared at the hint of "weird coding" and
so they often don't even try.

Also note the underscore in ODF_Template is difficult to spot on many
systems because they tend to underline clickable links.

I tend to find CamelCase the best solution but also using - can help.
Unfortunately the templates page can't be renamed to ODF-Templates now
without causing quite a bit of upheaval but it might still be possible to
change/create;
ColourPalettes/hwa.soc
rather than
Colour Palettes/hwa.soc

Many years ago Tim of Kracked Press created a ton of colour charts and
options that could be added to LibreOffice. I think it was within the
first year of this mailing list starting up. Sorry i can't give better
info on that! :frowning:

What you are doing does seem like a great thing to do!

Good luck and many regards from

After signing in, that throws one into
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files.

I took your advice and changed all the folder names to CamelCase.

https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/ColourPalettes
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/HandwritingAnalysis
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/ModelRailroading
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/ProjectManagement
https://groups.io/g/ODF_Templates/files/OtherThings

Also note the underscore in ODF_Template is difficult to spot on many

systems because they tend to underline clickable links.

FWIW, the instructions on creating a new group include «Cannot contain
spaces, pluses, slashes, periods, or underscores.»
I don't know how I managed to include an underscore. Maybe that is
something new.

I use it mainly as a reliable contact point for support, for the
templates, colour palettes, and other things I've constructed.
Furthermore, files hosted there look more legitimate than appellations
like https://app.box.com/s/9552x6yjgcdlhbaf356vgmbd21k4oe9p, which is a
colour palette for people that think there are way too few colours in
the current LibreOffice colour palette.

Hi Jonathon

You are a star :)) Thanks for changing the name and also a big thanks for
pasting the instructions note :)) Sensible 'rules'!! That's pretty rare
to find ime.
