Hi
It sounds like you are getting a corrupted download. The 3 remaining
possibilities, imo, are that;
1. Internet Explorer is stuffing up somehow. It's worth using a
different web-browser to see if that is the problem. MS make IE and
it mysteriously has problems with non-MS products sometimes.
2. Your wiifi connection is intermittent. Most web-browsers can cope
with that but IE can't and others sometimes have trouble with it too.
Torrenting is a good way around that because torrents doa lot of work
to make sure you get exactly what you are trying to download and do a
lot of error-correcting as they go. If you have not done torrenting
before then it's a bit scarily new but once you have tried it a few
times it begins to make sense. Before getting into any of that i
would just reboot the router, maybe by pulling the main power-lead out
and plugging back in again.
3. It might be a problem with the LibreOffice mirror but while that
is possible it usually generates quite a few comments from people.
I've not figured out how to try different mirrors but if you can that
might help
There might be other issues that other people can think of but those
are the only 3 i can think of. Errr, your reply only got through to
me, not to the rest of the mailing list so they have no idea what i am
suggesting. It's usually better to use "Reply to all" or "Group
reply" to ensure that other people can jump on any suggestions that
are not quite kosher or suggest additions or explanations to try to
help you.
Since there wasn't anything private or confidential in the email i
have forwarded it to the Users Mailing List for better quality-control
Regards from
Tom
