Crash on launch - Win8 x64

Firstly, hello all!

I've just installed LO 4.1.2 under Win 8 x64 for the first time, installing only the Base application (all I need in this instance).

I cannot launch Base - I see the process run briefly and then disappear in task manager. I assume some logs would be useful in this instance but I can't find them in the usual places or a reference to them in the documentation - can someone point me in the right direction.

I have tried restarting already and running the application as an admin, but this has made no difference.

Any help you guys could offer would be much appreciated.
