debilitating issue since upgrade to 7.1.5.x from 7.0.6.x

LibreOffice Community 7.1.5.2 (x64)
Windows 10 pro 20H1

A few days ago I decided to finally move to 7.1.5.x
from 7.0.6.x , I always use the Stable version.....

I only use Libreoffice Calc (since 2013 or so) for a handful of
spreadsheets.

Now when I open a spreadsheet its window is squeezed vertically
into almost a narrow band. Then I have to work a bit and resize the
window to be able to work.... e.g. to be able to see bottom of
spreadsheet ,etc , it's getting counter-productive
continuously doing this resizing.

just for testing this behavior is present for Writer as well
I also started with fresh user profile at
"C:\Users\.....\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice" no help ...
I reviewed all Options & Customization setting hoping to
find something to adjust and get this resolved... no help ...

any tweaks I need to make to remedy this?
