Hi
The OmegaT discussion yday was about translating the "Published Guides".
They are so called because they are available through the Lulu Bookstore as
properly, professionally printed as softback books.
The profits are fairly small but are enough to cover additional costs such
as getting the guides into the Apple, Android, Ubuntu and other
bookstores. If Lulu charge to set-up with them then you could ask the
English (International) Documentation Team for help with those set-up
costs. The funds are administered by an organisation called something like
"Friends of Open Document Format" or something. You might find it easier
to apply to them directly rather than through the Documentation Team tbh.
They might be able to help get some of the translated guides into the
various other stores as long as everyone doesn't ask all at the same time
as each other.
Various other places have asked permission to publish them properly, such
as a school's district in India. I think they aim to provide the guides
for little or no charge for some students and maybe have to charge others
enough to cover the costs of such scholarship books and the inevitable
wastage.
Anyone who really needs an English Published Guide at a massive reduction
can contact the "Friends of ..." and they are usually quite helpful
apparently.

Tom
