French Askbot project

Hi Andras, all,

It seems I've missed it, could it be possible to add French to the
Askbot project please?
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Sophie

In fact, I deleted the French Askbot project from Pootle after consulting Askbot's developer (Evgeny Fadeev). The thing is, that there was an active French Askbot team in Transifex, so we tried to avoid duplicated effort.

I'm chatting to him again now. He actually prefers to move all his L10n effort into Transifex and asks if that would render a problem for our localizers. So, would it?

yes, of course, I understand that.

I don't think so, my only will is to have a FR localization of the site. I can help if needed, just tell me where I have to do so

Kind regards
Sophie

Great! Here are the steps to proceed:
* go to https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/askbot/
* click on "Sign in" in the header, and log in with one of the account options, or create a new account
* request to join the French team for Askbot (don't know how, because I'm not logged in, but I'm sure you'll figure out)
* once Evgeny approves you, you can start translating there.

If you work in Pootle enough to consider yourself its user, it would also be interesting if you could compare these two systems from the user's point of view and share your observations. I'm sure that not only myself and Evgeny would be curious, but also the Pootle developers we have on this list.

Thanks!

There is a Join team button at the top right.

ok, thanks for you help Rimas, that was easy

ok, I'll give you my feedback once I've used it a while.

Thanks!

You're welcome!

Do Lo site uses same strings that exist in transifex? Or are some
differences?

If it´s the same, You can also delete Portuguese cause I´ll ask permissions
in transifex.

I think it should be using the same strings. There is a possibility though that the strings on Transifex are a bit outdated. I'll ping Evgeny about that.

How much have you done in Pootle already?

Rimas

from transifex. Let me know after pinging Evgeny

If it´s better to have askbot localized in transifex, I don´t mind about
that. I´ve already have an transifex account for other projects.

Regards

I´ve just checked transifex and askbot only shows 917 strings. Maybe we
should leave it in pootle or ask developer to update strings.

That's what I meant by "a bit outdated". Evgeny is aware of this, but I guess I'll poke him again.
