I'm using LO 4.4.0.3 on Xubuntu 14.10.
I would like to create a document in Writer with a graphical border.
Is there any way of doing this?

Easily done with *lines* of various colors, weights and styles
Format -> Page -> Margins--reduce-- & Format -> Page -> Borders : Spacing to
contents --increase--
But, no way I am aware of to use art/graphics from the Gallery. Although I
guess you could define a frame with bitmap fill, and then overlay a second
frame with document background color--could be a bit of a kludge.
FORMAT > PAGE > BACKGROUND > as GRAPHIC
Fiddle from there. Reset your margins to compensate for the graphic.
You may need to open a graphic program and resize the image to your page size (8.5x11 or whatever).
A lot depends on how your printer handles printing to the edges of the paper.
Mine will print to left-right fine but always leaves 1/2 in on top-bottom.
Therefore, I need something with white at the top bottom to look right.
