Hyperlink Toolbar

Hi all,

This is the first post of a normal user of LO from the beginning and
without specials skills.

I know hyperlink toolbar was considered a bug, but it is useful. I'm
working with LO 3.3.4, no upgrade, to no lost this tool. I don't find
any extension making the same function. Usually I read documents in
Writer with much references and I must search on internet. May be there
is another easy way.

There is some project to get back this useful tool, via core or extension?

I don't found any Spanish list.

Best regards

This is a list of International Sites by language:
http://www.libreoffice.org/international-sites/. Spanish is in this
list. From there you should look for mailing lists in Spanish if that is
what you want.
Could you be more specific about what you want to do with
hyperlinks in Writer. If I have a document containing hyperlinks open if
Writer, I can open them. I hold the Control key (Ctrl) down while
clicking the link. My browser opens the link's web page. Is this what
you want to do?

Thanks for the info. I just sent an e-subscription.

I do not mean the management of hyperlinks, but "hyperlink toolbar", a
toolbar from previous versions to the 3.3.4 (view -> toolbars ->
hyperlink bar).

I'm looking to get this functionality in new versions (over 3.3.4),
maybe an extension, maybe projects for retrieval this tool in future
versions.

thanks

You have to be more specific about functionality that "hyperlink toolbar"
provided.

For people like me, who has no idea what "hyperlink toolbar" did, it is
impossible to help you. We just don't know what exactly you are looking for,
even if we have some sort of solution available.

You can underline a sentence or a word, like "George Orwell", and select
on toolbar the motor search you want (i.e.: Google) to get Wikipedia
page or some thing other.

I search images from LO, but was easy with Ooo. The tool was coming from
Ooo to LO until 3.3.4 version

Here, at bottom, you find "Hyperlink bar" in toolbars list

Here as toolbar in Calc

And here you can configure motors search

Hi,

I know hyperlink toolbar was considered a bug, but it is useful.

See, e.g.:
Bug 35313 - [Task] Improve Hyperlink Bar
[Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX]

I'm
working with LO 3.3.4, no upgrade, to no lost this tool.

Workaround
Installing several versions of LibreOffice in parallel

I don't find
any extension making the same function. Usually I read documents in
Writer with much references  and I must search on internet. May be there
is another easy way.

You might have a look at
GoldenDict · dictionary lookup program (GNU GPLv3+ license)

As far as I know: unlikely...

The hyperlink toolbar only makes a link out of what you have
selected. The same thing can be done by selecting the text you want to
make into a link, clicking the Hyperlink icon, enter the URL for the
link, and click Apply. Then select the next reference. Enter the new
URL. Click Apply. Continue until you have finished entering all the URL.
I don't think you really need the toolbar.

Thanks for your reply.

Bug - I had read that page previously.

Several versions LO - I have installed the 3.3 and 3.5, but the latter,
without Hyperlink toolbar does not serve me to much.

GoldenDict - Extraordinary program. However, for the translations I have
Writer's Tools extension. I'll try, but so far I see no advantage over
the browser, since in both is through copy-paste.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your reply.

You're probably a more recent user and did not know this toolbar from
the time of OpenOffice. The idea is not to create links, but to
facilitate internet searches for documents from within LO.

Another user recommended me GoldenDict, excellent program. The basic
idea is the same as the Hyperlink toolbar: easy searching. GoldenDict
pity is not an extension of LO

I go back to OOo 1.03 which I remember and perhaps even 1.01.
Before that I had Star Office 5.3 (I skipped SO 6.0).
The first Apache OpenOffice is out, and it still has a hyperlink
toolbar. What I wrote to you was based upon what its hyperlink toolbar
will do. Seems to me that I remember something like that in the past.
Never did use it though.
Even help in AOO mentioned that the same things can be done with
the Hyperlink icon I mentioned as with the hyperlink toolbar.

Hi,

Thanks for your help, but if you did not use the hyperlink toolbar is
difficult to understand the usefulness to me. Your solution seem to me
complicates the search. Sorry I assumed that you were a new user. In
fact you are older than me in these programs.

I don't know what is Aoo. Can you put me a link to a help page that
explains how to use the Hyperlink icon for the same function as the
hyperlink bar? .

Regards.
