Hi
Thanks for trying that out! Sorry it didn't work
Can you go back to the version that did work? There is an archive of older
versions somewhere but i never seem to be able to find it.
It used to be that the main cause of crashes was a Java version suddenly
misbehaving but it is easier to check it's not the User Profile first even
if it was only the 2nd most likely cause of crashing.
Ramping the memory up was a good plan because that is even easier than
renaming the user-profile and seems to be another highly likely cause. I
wish the defaults were changed to suit more modern machines and then
versions in the repos of some distros could be reset to default to
something suitable for the types of machines they are usually run on -
rather than all of us being given default settings for ancient machines or
tiny netbooks. Hmmm, maybe i should write a "feature request" for it!
Better than my just grumbling pointlessly right!?
So can you check the version of Java and maybe see if you can turn it off?
Tools - Options - Advanced
on Gnu&Linux but the mac path is a little different although it does follow
their usual path.
