Large increase in translation strings

I've logged into Weblate this morning and found that there is a huge number of translations requested for the Welsh translation. It looks something like 34,000+ words. We were at 100% for LibreOffice 7.

Is this correct? Thanks.

The bulk of them should be the extended help tips, which are in the process
of being copied from Help into UI.
As Help hasn't been translated into Welsh, then previously these tips would
have been shown to users in English.

Hi,
yes, we poor guys who do not have Help translated get now hundreds of
untranslated strings.

To translate them I use the ImTranslator extension (on firefox, but I
think is available also for Chrome):

It speeds up translation significantly

Exactly, especially hard for teams with limited number of participants (like 1).

If on Windows, QTranslator works perfectly.

Best regards,

Thanks guys for the support and commiseration.

It will take c. 6 months to work my way through this. I use Poedit Pro to assist with the translations, it's good but needs editing. My main concern now is that I'll miss more important UI stuff being added as the 'extended help tips project' maerial is spread across a number of the main files and am likely to miss newer, more important developments.

Is there any way of being able to identify new content coming through and separate them from the 'extended help tips project'?

Hi Rhoslyn,

It appears at least some of the extended tips can be identified by looking for the string "extended_tip" in the Context part. If all of them are marked like that, you should be able to find everything else by searching "NOT extended_tip" in Weblate.

Tuomas

Hi all,

I noticed that besides the string "extended_tip", some of the extended tips are marked with "extended tip" (without the underscore) or "extended tips". It would be nice if the latter two varieties were changed to "extended_tip" in order to make searching easier.

Thanks,
Tuomas
