last editing position

Good morning
I am using now Ver. 4.4.2.2 and believe, I did ask this before.
When I close a document and then open it the next time, I would like the
cursor to move to the last editing position.
However, it ALWAYS positions itself at the top of the document. VERY
inconvenient.
Personal data: entered and edited just to make sure something new is there.
I remember, that in earlier versions of LibreOffice, this sometimes DID
work.

Intentionally setting bookmarks or reminders is NOT what I am looking for.

Is there somewhere a checkbox, that will make LibreOffice remember the
last editing position.

* Searching the net did not produce anything helpful.
Thank you.
Thomas

@Thomas,

This has been fixed for the 4.4.3 release--ref tdf#80960 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80960

But, you will need to set Tools -> Options -> User data "First / Last-name / initials" to have it reposition correctly on reopening. And, at any time you can use <Shift>+F5 "Restore Edit View" to return to last edit position.

Stuart

Thank you.
Yet, that definitely does NOT work on my computer.
Reentering personal data does not change anything,
Shift + F5 does not do anything,
and when I switch between ordinary and print preview,
the cursor jumps EACH time to a different, random position!

Thomas

@Thomas,

Yes that is correct, it was not fixed in 4.4 until the 4.4.3.1 build as
noted in the BZ issue.

Update to 4.4.3.2 (now in pre-release) or move to a current build of a
Tinderbox master.

Stuart

Just tried the operation on LibreOffice 4.2.7.2 installed on an xubuntu 14.04 machine.
Works just fine ...

What is Tinderbox master?

Tinderbox is a computer producing daily builds (which are Development
builds, not installed over your 4.4.2.2)

I advise you to get the 4.4.3.2 which works as expected (and is EXACTLY the
same as version 4.4.3 which will be officially released this week)

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/win/x86/LibreOffice_4.4.3.2_Win_x86.msi

you can also get the offline help for your location from the same folder

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/win/x86/

(scroll down and ignore the 5.0alpha files which are also Development
builds)

Hope this helps.
