Thank you all for sharing your experiences with LO 5.3.3
Which LO version would you suggest I upgrade to from my 3.1?
Is LO 5.2 a safer option with most bugs worked out?
Thank you!
Charles.

Charles,
My rule is to use the version ending in 6 or greater. That is x.x.6. Usually, that is where development stops for that series. Therefore, it is the most stable. I am currently running 5.2.6.2. When 5.3.6 is released, I will upgrade to it.

Hi Charles.
It depends upon what you are doing, as from 3.1 there have been some changes.
If you use EPS illustrations, you may need to stay with an older version.
If you produce larger documents with more numerous images distributed in PDF (books, manuals) it may pay to stay with the last of the 4 series.
If you just do day to day word processing and spread sheets, I would recommend the last of the 5.2 series. The 5.3 series may even be fine.
I have not found any of them to be unstable, just bags that affect certain areas of use.
Steve
No - the bugs will never "mostly be worked out" - there are thousands of reported bugs. I recommend getting on the latest version. You'll get lots of perks and new features and experience basically the same number of bugs (give or take a few dozen). A nasty bug for me might be a "didn't even notice" situation for you. The only way to know is to run the version and see if it has any personal "show-stoppers"
I run master for professional daily use and it's fine.
