Libre Writer - arrows

Hi,

I wanted a few videos and read Web sites but none were accurate re:
inserting or drawing an arrow in Libre Writer.

Some said to choose Format - Line except in my version 4.3.5.2 there
is no Line under Format.

I'm trying to re-create that look where you place a yellow arrow next
to where one has to sign a document or next to an object to describe
what it is (e.g. camera viewfinder).

Hows does one easily accomplish that in Libre Writer?

Can you change colors of the arrow? Change angles? (e.g. 45 degree angle, etc.).

Can you insert that arrow into a .jpg you've inserted from a Picture File?

Thanks so much,

Charles.

Hi.
For me I go view>toolbars>drawing and turn on the drawing toolbar.
Then I can select a line and draw it on my page.
Then I right click on the line and can add arrows and change line and colour.
Steve

You can also add block arrows from the drawing toolbar and make them yellow (right click>area) and rotate them (rightclick>position and size).

o Go to View | Toolbars > | Drawing, in order to display the Drawing toolbar (at the foot of the window).

Either:
o Click the down-arrow next to the Block Arrows button in the Drawing toolbar and select the type of arrow that you prefer.
o Drag your mouse where you want your arrow, to create it.
o Right-click the arrow and use the options in the context menu - especially Area... and Position and Size... - to adjust its properties.

Or:
o Click the Line button in the Drawing toolbar.
o Drag your mouse where you want your arrow, to create a line.
o Right-click the line and use the options in the context menu - especially Line... and Position and Size... - to adjust its properties. Note that you can add arrow heads at this point.

Can you change colors of the arrow?

Yes - on the Colours tab of the Area dialogue.

Change angles? (e.g. 45 degree angle, etc.).

Yes - on the Rotation tab of the Position and Size dialogue.

But why not download the LibreOffice Writer Guide from the web site and read "Using Writer's drawing tools" in Chapter 8: Working with Images? In any case, you can also find this under arrows;drawing in text in the built-in help text.

I trust this helps.
