Libre Writer saving files as Read Only

Hi Folks,

Here’s a weird thing I’ve found.

In Libre Writer, I create a new file with plain text and one jpg in it.

I choose save As and saved as a Word 2003 .doc and I close Libre Writer.

I then open MS Word 2003 and try to open that file just created in
Writer but I get a pop-up box telling me that another user created
that file as Read Only.

Is there some auto feature in Libre Writer which makes files saved as
.doc to be Read Only?

I never intentionally saved it as Read Only.

Is this the same issue as "[libreoffice-users] Writer: Cannot access files I just created!??

It appears that although Writer is closed, Windows does not remove the lock from the file.

I believe that if you <ctrl><alt><del> and stop LibreOffice or restart you machine, you will then have read access.

This has worked for me previously.

It has not happened to me under Linux.

Confirmation of this would be welcome.
