Libre Writer - Spell Check Auto - gone

Hi All,

I’ve searched the Libre Writer manual without finding an answer.

Suddenly spell check stopped working. I made no settings changes – I just
started typing in a new Libre Writer document and it stopped spell checking.

Auto Correct Seems to be checked in Options.

I’m using Libre Office 6.4.0.3 Windows 10 Pro.

Have you used any technique to correct this in your experience?

I have limited I-net access and I wasn’t online when this happened.

Thanks.

Charles.

Hello,

Some things to check:

- The style you are using has spell checking enabled (the language is
on the font selection tab)
- The font you have selected also enabled spell checking (same thing:
font selector panel)
- In the options, spell check is enabled to check as you type
- In the Tools menu, automatic spell check is ON

I hope this helps.
Rémy.

Hi Charles.
Could you please clarify, do you mean spell check as you type (Tools/Automatic Spell Checking) or Tools/AutoCorrect>While typing

For the first;
Check if a manual spell check f7 (Tools/Spelling) picks up a misspelt word

Just check the document text is say English (US) and you have English (US) spellcheck installed.
I often find I am in a situation with differing English versions.

The latter is more an Auto-substitute than Autocorrect, it substitutes say an arrow for typing --> or ∓ for typing :-+: (± for :+-

Hi Remy,

Thank you.

I visited Extension Manager and correct an option in there.

Weird that it would stop working so suddenly.
