libreoffice 3.4 shows start screen when starting PC

Since installing 3.4 when i boot it shows the startscreen (the screen where u
can open templates , docs etc....)

i have the option checked start libreoffice at system start but this used to
be just the icon in the taskbar , not the screen which i always have to
close now.

This appears to be a bug in Libre Office 3.4. Is there another place where
these should be reported?
TIA.

Which OS do you use?
If you use Windows, please look whether there is an item in the autostart in the start menu.

Hi
It might be good to post a bug-report

Perhaps you could forward that link to the forum thread so someone can see if
someone ahs already posted a bug-report there?

Hi, Regina.

It's been reported on Windows 7 X64 and Windows XP SP3 by two different
users so far.

Since Load LibreOffice at System Startup is selected, a link to
quickstart.exe is found in my XP startup folder, as expected.
Quickstarter.exe did not shows the startscreen in 3.3.2. It just activated
the tray icon like OO.org did. I think that's the desired and expected
behavior.

Yes, I have proved it in the meantime. I want to excluse, that 'soffice.exe' is in the autostart.

You are right. You will see the wrong behavior too, if you close the quickstarter icon in the task bar and then call quickstarter.exe

A bug report already exists. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37110

I never use quickstarter. Are you sure you need it? I use an icon on the desktop to start LO.

Kind regards
Regina

Thank you for the confirmation, Regina.

quickstarter is worse than useless now. Thank you for suggesting a
workaround.

Hi
No, you don't need quick-starter running. Some people think they want it but
it's not vital. LibreOffice still starts up just about as quickly even if it's
not always running in the background like that. You can switch it off from
inside LibreOffice
Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Memory - "Enable Systray Quickstarter"
Just untick it

Hello Tom,

... You can switch it off from inside LibreOffice Tools - Options -
LibreOffice - Memory - "Enable Systray Quickstarter" Just untick it

I never install it, but just looked and there isn't an option for it under
Memory.

Hi
Oh :frowning: It's the bottom option there in 3.3.2 on Ubuntu 10.04
