LibreOffice 3.5.1 - new strings and bugs to fix

Hi,

I pushed translations to git this morning for the LibreOffice 3.5.1
rc1 release. I noticed that there were new strings. :frowning: Fortunately not
many. I'm updating Pootle now. New templates are at
http://dev-www.libreoffice.org/l10n/ as usual. Also, please find there
the error logs from today, please fix bugs until the final release by
next week.

Thanks,
Andras

like 80 new/fuzzy strings? ain't that a lot for a bugfix release?

lp, m.

Don't forget it also has changes not done in time for 3.5.0... so it's not
just a bug fix release.

Done. Question, these Basic fonts, are those fonts specifically created for LO or are they 3rd party fonts?

Hi Michael,

That panel was restored in the last minute, it is the same as in 3.4.
You can set any fonts there.

Best regards,
Andras

Andras,

Thanks. While I like the new panel in terms of structure etc it's still - sorry - really stupid the way users are expected to know that to get a language other than English must choose "Custom Install" during the process. Which is the reason I wrote the guide and made it very prominent above the download link. Until such time as selecting a language actually automatically gets you that language, I'll stick with the old-style download page with the guide.

In case some of the other locales are curious, I did this http://gd.libreoffice.org/faigh-greim-air/ - the key bit starts with the

Hi Michael, all

I agree, indeed. Here's how Asturian team handled this issue (with screenshots) http://blogs.altuxa.com/tapaponga/como-instalar-libreoffice-3-5-nubuntu-bonus-track-y-windows.html We can provide an English translation if you need it, but screenshots are quite self-explanatory

Regards!

Yes, that would work too - if your blog is well know. We don't have a hub that's active enough so I decided to put it on the page, which worked nicely, the emails have stopped and I even came across some forum posting (on a forum I'm not on) saying "I have to say, I looked at the English version too and was none the wiser! The Gaelic one was actually more step-by-step, so I battled on!"

Fatal error fixed for et. Regarding the non-fatal:
Shouldn't the first occurrence of "Ctrl" in
autohide.xhp#par_id3150275.68.help.text (sorry, Pootle doesn't show me the
KeyID for whatever reason) also be "Ctrl" or "Command" depending on
platform, like the second and third occurrence in that same string?

You are right. I found this fixed in master branch.

Okay, great. A question, though: will it work if I add the OS switch in
translation for 3.5.1? (Without it being in the original English string.)

You can try it. If it causes error, I will see it and remove it.

Thanks,
Andras

It did end up in http://dev-www.libreoffice.org/l10n/errorlog/et.err -- so
does that mean it wouldn't work?

Mihkel

I'm not sure. If it is in the non-fatal category, which means it does
not break the build.

Hi,

There were problems with updating LibreOffice 3.5.x UI project in Pootle. The usual ./manage.py update_from_templates --project=libo35x_ui command did not work, I got "Unit matching query does not exist." error messages without a good reason (Debug = True did not show anything). So I brute forced the update with the following command:
for i in $LANGS;do ./manage.py sync_stores --project=libo35x_ui --language=$i;pomigrate2 -C po/libo35x_ui/$i po/libo35x_ui/$i.new po/libo35x_ui/templates;cp -r po/libo35x_ui/$i.new/* po/libo35x_ui/$i;rm -rf po/libo35x_ui/$i.new;./manage.py update_stores --project=libo35x_ui --language=$i;done
It finished this morning, please check your translations.

Thanks,
Andras
