LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 win32 seems to have a dotted right Start Screen (Draw, Database, ... side)

Hi Everyone,

yesterday afternoon I install LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 win32 (ITA guied and ITA local help) on my Windows 8.1 (64 bit, updated, ITA guied, AMD Catalyst 13.9, A8 CPU + AMA dual graphics).

It seems to have a dotted _right_ Start Screen (Draw, Database, ... side): if you take a look with attention you will see a regular dotted mesh. Its color is only slightly clearer than the central background.

I haven't seen at all it in the past time...: is it correct or there were some bug, some runout?

If you need I could attach the snapshot in Nabble...

Have a nice day,

Carlo

Hi Everyone,

as mentioned in my previous mail, I have uploaded the dotted start screen in
this mail with Nabble (compare near white right background with left one).

Have a nice evening,

Carlo

Hi
Wow! That took me ages to spot that! I had to zoom right in before i
saw the dots! On my machine the LibreOffice splash-screen it smoothly
white(ish), the same as the left hand side. Does it happen with other
apps or just LibreOffice? Do you get the same effect in a blank
document or is it just on the splash-screen?

Wow. I had to download the image and zoom it to see the white dots.

Now that you mention it, I loaded 4.1.3.2 and it has the same dots. So it
seems like a regression from the 4.0 branch (there are no dots in 4.0.6) or
within the 4.1 branch.
Maybe you want to report that bug/regression?

Cheers,
Pedro

Hi Tom!

Only in the splash screen and not in the white screens...
And if move the main LibreOffice window the dotted area move with it in the same way.
Only with LibreOffice: I tested only in the described environment.

Sunny night!

Hi Pedro!

I used to ask people to compare my case with their ones and then, if the bug is discovered, proceed checking and, if necessary, filing a bug.

What is/are your environment/s Pedro?

Nice evening,

Carlo

Hi
It's not Windows-only :frowning: Ubuntu 12.04 also had it but i'm not sure
which version of LO on that machine and can't get onto that one today
(grrr).

The only way i spotted it was by taking a screenshot and really
zoooming in quite far in. Luckily taking screenshot is significantly
easier in Gnu&Linux, just press the key on the keyboard and then click
on the "Save" button in the pop-up. (In Windows you have to open a
image editor or document and paste the image in there and then save
that). My eyes do seem to have gone a bit wonky in the last couple
weeks so maybe it's easier for others to spot the problem

Hi Guys,

this is the Bugzilla link to the new bug (there were some LibreOffice UI Start Center bugs, but I can't see anyone that seems related)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72794
Bug 72794 - Start Center background with white dotted grid in the right side

I post the bug over 4.1.3.2 release version because there were not 4.1.4 RCs versions included yet.

Have a nice afternoon,

Carlo
