I did a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04 which uses LO vers 5.1.4.2.
When I look at my .config file I see /.config/libreoffice/4/user. Why the '4', I expected '5'. Is this normal.

Yes, completely normal. When 5 was first developed, it was deemed
unnecessary to change/rename a users existing profile. For continuity,
new 5 installations also use 4 in the profile path.

It hasn't been changed from '4' to '5'. Could be the main-content is
the same and it's easier to update from one version to another.

OK, thanks.

This works now, but one thread I read tell us that for 5.3.x some or all of the config files for LO will no longer be in the .config folder for LO, but in a "opt/libreoffice5.3/" folder. I do not know about some people, but a lot of documents I read cautions you to not "hand edit" the "opt/" folders.
