Libreoffice doesn't open some .docx

Hi!

I have a problem with opening some *.docx files (attached for example,
warning: cyrillic text). When I open this file, libreoffice hangs and uses
100% CPU of a core (and X11 uses 100% CPU of a second core). This file doesn't
open in a long time (10-15 minutes), though it has about 2 pages of text
without other elements. Rather, file opens, but I don't look any letter, spell
check and some red lines are visible only.
Opening the exported file from *.docx to *.doc through M$2007/2010 (under
Windows 7) gives a similar effects. OpenOffice-4.0.0 opens this file, but
opening the exported file to *.doc or *.odt gives a similar effects.

Additional information:
System: 3.10.3-1-ARCH
Libreoffice ver: 4.0.4.2
X11 ver: 1.14.2
Graphics Intel HD4000 (X11 driver ver 2.21.12)

The file is stripped out by the email system. Please post it on Nabble or somewhere like Dropbox and post a link.

Opens fine in my LO3.6 on opensuse.
Steve

Opens fine 4.0, 4.1 & 4.2 master on Bodhi Linux.

Best,
Joel

Opens fine also on my MageiaLinux3 and LibreOffice 4.1.0.4.

Let us know if you still have problems with it and we may be able to help you trouble-shoot the problem.

Cheers,

Marc

Opens fine with 4.1 in Windows 7.

Sorry, guys.
I found a mistake. So, I think that you don't have "Calibri" font. All
problematic files was written using "Calibri". If I remove "Calibri" then
file will open normally with default font, but with the installed "Calibri"
(manually or from AUR-package) I have this bug.
If I create a new document and write using this font I will have effects
which are described in this topic.

So, did the file you uploaded have the fault when you checked or do you need to upload a new file to check.
Steve

Hmm, maybe your Calibri font file is corrupted? I have Calibri font on my system, wrote a new file using the font, closed and opened.

MageiaLinux3 / LibreOffice 4.1.0.4

I checked with KSysGuard to see if there was any extra load on my system and there were no changes at all. LibreOffice did no crash and the file is fine.

Cheers,

Marc

No, file isn't corrupted, this font work normally under Windows and in
kwrite for example. This bug isn't related to LO official build, it is only
for Archlinux and only for LO ver.4.0.4 (downgrade to 4.0.3 solves the
problem). Here are links to bugtracker and official forum:

Thank you for your trouble. If I look more closely at the problem, this
topic wouldn't be necessary.

Hi, guys!

Upgrade to 4.1.1 solves this problem. As I said earlier, this bug is not
related to official build.
Thank you all for your attention. And I'm sorry for trouble you.

Hi
No trouble at all.  Thanks for letting us know the answer.

It's very unusual for a minor-point release (kinda like a "Service Pack" for those familiar with the MS way of doing things) to break something that worked on another version in the same branch but not impossible.  Usually they are only bug-fixes and patches for things that have been around for a while so they do not usually introduce new elements.  If downgrading to 4.0.3 fixed the problem then hopefully upgrading to the 4.0.6 will too when that comes out.

Have you been able to post a bug-report to help the devs fix this issue faster?
