LO 3.5.1

I see that LO 3.5.1 is out now. Can anyone confirm please if these
showstoppers have been fixed?
[a] autospellcheck not working, and
[b] lack of recent history files.

I am reluctant to upgrade until I know that these showstoppers have been fixed.

Thank you
Sharon.

Hi,

I just installed 3.5.1 today on Ubuntu 11.10. I had been using 3.4.5. The language is US English. So far it has work fine in writer and calc. I haven't tried anything else yet. The auto spell checker is working perfectly. I have a list of recent files.

Thanks Don, thats good to know, I'll download it then and install it.

Sharon.

I downloaded it, all of the install version, Windows/Linux/MacOSX for my work to start building a 3.5.x version for the North American Community DVD. I have a 3.4.5 version, so it was time I started working on 3.5.x. Then when 3.4.6 comes out, I will need to do the same for it to create the final version of the DVD for the 3.4.x line.

I run Ubuntu 10.04 GNOME, and cannot get 11.10 to work the way I want/need for me to upgrade to that one.

Will need to test 3.5.1 on one of my laptops to see how well it works for Windows. Later, I will go to the 3.5.x line, but not this month. Too much to do and I do not need any surprises with LO to stop my work. It would be just my luck to have some issues when I need to keep LO running smoothly.

Still the problem with the frame in the Writer that is if the direction of the text flow inside the frame is set to "vertical" is not solved. The border is not displayed if the text flow inside the frame is st other than horizontal, from left to right.
This happens both on Windows and Linux (Debian squeeze)

Hi
It is going to be important for everyone that has found problems with the 3.5.1 to test-drive the 3.5.2 beta-releases asap.  It should be out quite soon

At the moment the 3.4.6rc2 is available for test-driving but the 3.4.x branch is already stable so it probably wont have many problems.

To test-drive on a single machine this link might help

Have you looked at bugzilla?

Why do people always wish to be using the latest version of a software product?

Have recently read a very interesting thread about regression bugs and
(in my opinion) flawed software release strategy:

Hi
Yes it's a bit annoying that the only version on the main downloads page was the 3.5.0 when it was obviously going to be problematic.  Now that the 3.5.1 has been released it should be less of a problem.

People choose the latest one because that's what we give them, unless they dig around to find the more obscure options buried on back-pages.

Hi
My OS keeps track of my most recently opened documents.  (Windows and Ubuntu 10.04 & 10.10).  When the recent docs list fails in LO are the documents also missing from the OS's list?

I just simply think and expect latest versions have solved problems from previous releases.
However it is obvious that this is not true at all.
