Thanks for the pointer, but my issue was more that this changed
unexpectedly (for me) in the latest release. It is a new
inconvenience to the user (me).
This is not the only inconveniencing change I have run into. In all
my "old" .ODT documents (i.e., those I created before 4.3.1), the
"Correct spelling as you type" was deselected in 4.3.1 where it used
to be set and I had to re-enable it. (Is there a way to enable it by
default, regardless of the "old" document settings?)
This kind of inconveniencing the user in subtle ways makes any app
harder to work with and less marketable. Most especially for free
software, backward compatibility is crucial, and when broken, should
be emphasized in some big way. I don't recall seeing these changes in
any announcements or release notes (maybe I missed them...).
Just my $0.02 (worth less every year, I know...).
Thanks.
