Steve,
Hi. I had this problem once and changed the button theme to resolve it.
This article talks about it. https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/162472/libreoffice-61-how-to-set-galaxy-icon-theme/
I can't remember exactly why this occurred on only 1 pc and not the others and what I changed to, but changing the theme got my icons back.
Yep this is what seems to be happening to me, just on my PC no others.
I should have found the "Icon Theme" but missed it or did not actually reset it!
I just switched back from Cinnamon to gnome 3 and it was still there (used writer).
Went into tools/options/view/ and "icn style was "automatic (Breeze Dark)" which is in the drop down list.
Changed it to another theme "Breeze" and it worked!! Changed to "Breeze Dark" and it doesn't work.
I assume it was a theme that was previously set which is no longer available or is now corrupt!?
I had not changed any OL setting when this happened and any updates should have resolved any theme redundancies, if this was the case then I hope highlighting the problem here should help prevent it happening in future.

Hi,
All my LO icons are missing but the buttons are there and work.
After various tests I found that configuring a new user, it works.
Replacing the .config/libreoffice/ in the new user did not change the new user IE it still worked.
The problem only seems to be with LO and other programs work OK.
After further reading it seems the problem is to do with Gnome3 integration but I cannot find any recent problems listed and do not know what/where to report it and what files are causing the problem and would appreciate some help in getting it resolved.
FYI I am running a fully updated Fedora 29 and have only installed programs from Fedora Repository.
I have seen info about "libreoffice -gnome" had cause the problem in the past but cannot find this for Fedora.
This problem has lasted for more than a month and no updates have removed the problem.
Thanks
Regards
