Local mailing lists

I would like to be able to create two Danish mailing lists. When can I
expect this to become possible?

Cheers,
Leif

One for user support, one for local project issues, perhaps. Would make sense.

One thing that we have learn't from the Swedish side is that, while mailing lists fulfills it's purpuse, forums are a lot easier for users to understand. With mailing lists, I usually get at least a message a week from user's who are having problems to follow our instructions.

That's why I am gonna suggest for our local community to have a discussion list for our local efforts and then a public forum.

my plan is to send an e-mail to all native-lang leads soon, offering them to set-up mailing lists on demand. I just need a few more days, but then we can start.

You are right. Sad, but true.

Stefan.

No,
One for the community (discuss) and one for a newsletter for marketing.

Good to hear the local mailing lists is comming.
Who are "they"? Do you mean OpenOffice.org native-lang leads to set up
local mailing lists on ooo infrastructure, or did we have native-lang
projects of LibreOffice?

It is not our intention to separate the community that develops the leading open source office suite. We (the founding members) just have the vision that the OpenOffice.org community must be independent from single sponsors and needs to have the right to define it's own way.

That said: basically we invite the OpenOffice.org native lang teams to join us. Many already did so.

join us. Many already did so.

Thanks for the explanation.
I'll tell the fact to Japanese users and wait for the result.
