Mail Merge question

I am trying to do a mail merge and I have a “Salutation” field in my database because each of my salutations are different. Can anybody tell me how to insert mail merge fields one at a time, and not just the standard address block that’s in the mail merge wizard?

Thanks.

Hi Suzie,

Can anybody
tell me how to insert mail merge fields one at a time, and not just
the standard address block that’s in the mail merge wizard?

In Writer try
Insert → Field → More Fields → Database →
Type → Mail Merge Fields
and select the field from the table of your database.

Regards

Robert

Robert,

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I was looking for!

Just as an addendum for those who are brand new to Libre Office:

If the More Fields Option doesn’t respond (mine didn’t at first and that’s why I couldn’t find Mail Merge Fields) choose Insert—Field—Command F2

Then once you have chosen Mail Merge Fields you will see a list of your available database files on the right. Click on the database you want to use. Click the down arrow beside it and you will see the name of the table inside that database. Click on the down arrow beside the name of that table and you will see a list of the available fields in that database. Then click on the name of the field you want to insert.

Thank you again, Robert.
