Names of Impress backgrounds not localized

Hi,

Von: Michael Meeks

It is -possible- that we can fix the most annoying "document set to the
wrong locale" issue, in some more sensible way - by removing whatever
hard-coded locale nonsense is in the existing templates: presumably this
is possible - and susceptible to l10n help - if we can do that it should
be easy to edit that out of the templates.

I have no idea, if this is possible. E.g. if you set *no* locale in the templates,
at some point you need to apply the correct locale after document creation.
(I'll try soem edits.)

If we find a way how to do this, I'm sure, we find people to edit the templates.

Wrt. the non-localised names I'd like to fix them for the next point
release, which should be only a few weeks after the first point-zero
release. I've created a new tracking bug for 3.3.1 here:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32894

And made this bug block it,

Thoughts ?

Ok, my main concern is the wrong locale info after document creation.
IMO non-localized template names might confuse users, but I'm fine with
fixing this in 3.3.1

regards,

André

Great - if you see Caolan's script in:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32897

This fixes the problem (we think) (Thanks Caolan) - so for now, we can
run it on the template docs, and check them in - though it'd be great to
test that on your Linux machine in your language. In future we should do
that during the build I think.

  Testing much appreciated,

  Thanks,

    Michael.

Not tested but tried to find my own solution (without reading the mails first) and came to exactly the same way to fix it (not yet automated).

So - the way to clean up the language info is correct (gives presentation with de-DE locale created from the cleaned template).
The demoscript looks also correct to me (not tested, but see no problem in it).

Thanks! (means - I'm happy  )
