New numerals

Hi,

In the LO write, we have a different Numeral format for
bullet/footnote/endnote/pagenumber of different language.

Can you please suggest how a new Numeral of a new language can be added?

Thanks,

Hi Sudipta,

Can you please suggest how a new Numeral of a new language can be added?

What language is it and why do you want to add a new format?
Cheers
Sophie

Maybe you mean the defined bullets and numbering syles as shown in the xml files here:

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/i18npool/source/localedata/data

You need to make the change in the source code: clone the code, build it, make the changes, then rebuild so see the effect. Before doing that, I suggest you file an enhancement request on bugziila and cc your language team members and seek their review and approval. If you are not able to do the changes in source code, you may download a copy of that xml file and make changes in the file directly, then upload the new file to that bugzilla report and asking someone else to commit.

You may take a look at the change log for zh_CN locale for reference:

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/i18npool/source/localedata/data/zh_CN.xml

Best regards,

Kevin Suo

And just for your information, I have just now filed a bug report re the bullets and numbering dropdown list, which is related to the issue I mentioned in the email blow, see:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138430

Thank you Sophi and Kevin for your kind response.

I'm referring to the following numerals - (Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes,
the same can be found at Insert > Field > More fields > Page).

The selected/highlighted numerals of the screenshots are of language -
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/i18npool/source/localedata/data/hi_IN.xml

The language for which I wish to have the numerals are already supported (
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/i18npool/source/localedata/data/bn_IN.xml),
but I like to have the same available in the Footnote/Endnote/Page Number
numerals as well.

Please find the Unicode specification -

I'm not such a developer who can change the LO code. Can you please suggest
how I can help to get this done ?

Thanks,
Sudipta

Thanks for the details. There is a enhancement request for page numbers
in fields for your language here:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73302
Your request being more complete, maybe you should open a new bug and
add the one above in the See also field.
Don't hesitate to come back to me directly if you need help to fill the
bug and please let me know when it's done.
Cheers
Sophie

Thank you Sophi. I have opened a new bug
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138462

I could not find the See also field, but that bug is referring to little
different navigation.

Looking forward to get this feature added.

Thanks,
Sudipta

Hi Sophi,

Can you please help me to get this some priority, if possible?
This feature will be very much appreciated and helpful.

Thank you,
Sudipta
