ODFAuthors Texts in Pootle: proposal

Hi All

I wonder if it would possible to integrate the LibreOffice documents loaded
in the ODFAuthors site inside Pootle, to better work with them and share
translations/strings.

What about it?

Ciao

It is very interesting that you started this thread at this time. We, the German documentation team, are looking for a good way to spread the translation of a guide.
We translate some guides in our wiki, e.g [1]. An instruction in German is here [2].
Now we want to try an external translation tool for documentation and want to give OmegaT [3] a first try. One of our volunteers is working with it.
There is a need for a place to put the database on a free and open place. After that we will start with a test.

Hi Klaus

But Who could care about it? I mean, who can convert and upload the
documentation in Pootle ?

Hi Valter, all,

I've added the documentation list on CC

I did an experiment some time ago, see this thread
http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/msg01156.html

From what I remember, it was not so hard to convert, maintain and
translate, but if I remember well too, there was very low interest in
the process and was removed from Pootle.

Kind regards
Sophie

Hi Sophie, All

I do not remember this thread, but I do not see any problem to create another
"branch" for translation, like "website" or "django".

Time is few for many of us, but with some luck, and the implementation of a
new contribution page, we can find people who want to contribute.

I propose to try again this way, the translations and the updates would be
much easier to check and manage.

Ciao

I am not trying to hijack this thread, but I have experience with django
and can help with putting something together.
