Outline View in Writer

I'm a happy user of LibreOffice, but...

Is there any "Outline View" option as in Microsoft Office Word? (with the
easy drag and drop function etc?)

Greetings,

I'm not an experienced user of Microsoft Office Word... so, what's the
"Outline view", can you refer us to a screenshoot or explanation?

Here is a video explaining Outline View.

Outline View happens @ 1:25 or someting.

Yes there is.
Use the menu option
View -> Navigator.

Here is google's answer to <microsoft office "outline view">
(incidently, the very first hit of 143,000).

Well thanks everyone! Finaly it will become more easy for me to make some
documents.

But is there also a "big" view of outline view? Like as in Microsoft Word?
With the navigator i can see a schedule of the document, and make it move,
but it is in an extra window (which can be annoying when using it the whole
time)

Is there an option to make it in the same window as the document? So you can
switch from Document View to Outline View and vice versa?

And if possible, can it also make it collapse and decollapse (so you only
see the title and not the whole textblock) whit a '+' and a '-' ?

Open it with F5. When the Navigator window is opened, slide it to the side of the main document window and it will become a sidebar. Just like the style and all other extra windows

Not quite. But as you are in the "headings" section, look at all icons and one of them looks like a series of bars; as you hover over it, you'll see something like "heading levels shown". That allows you to select how much details you want in the navigation view.
Similar techniques also allow you to navigate by table, chart...

This function "sidebar like" of the Navigator seems very interesting to me,
because I spend a lot of time dragging the navigator floating window here
and there during the process of writing my documents. However this tool is
very useful so I really need to use it. I tried to "slide " it at the left
side of my document window but it seems it don't want became a sidebar.
Maybe there is something wrong in what I do. Could you explain one more time
I have to do?
I've libreoffice 3.3.2 on Ubuntu Lucid Linx with Gnome

Thanks
Akiko

Hi. I open the navigator window, grab the top of the navigator frame
(mouse click and hold) and slide it left. As the mouse pointer touches
the side of the main writer frame a shadowed frame to the side of writer
appears and on releasing the mouse the navigator becomes a panel. KDE

Well, maybe they could add some placer-lines, just like Adobe has.

I made some little screenshots (putted in one image) for example:

I don't know if I'm here at the right place to give some suggestions for
some better GUI?
Can I post GUI idea's here or is there a special page for suggestions?

Greetings,

Hi
It might be better to post gui ideas to the Design Team i think?

What are place liners? I know that pdf allows something similar to web-links so
that lines in the Contents Table are clickable and jump to the relevant
section. I don't know what that type of link is called?

Press control and double click in an empty place of the toolbar of the Navigator. And Ctrl-Shft-F10 works too (for me).

Kind regards,
