Plans for (new) website translation?

Hi

I have finished the translation of the new webside po file in Pootle.

What are the next steps?

How/when do I get the translated stings into SilverStripe?

Then how to make the website available publicly?

Thanks

If you have finished in Silverstripe too, then just ask Christian to
import the strings and to publish the site.

Hi Olivier, *,

I have finished the translation of the new webside po file in Pootle.

What are the next steps?

You ping me/the list (as you did)

How/when do I get the translated stings into SilverStripe?

After I got the ping  I.e. just extracted your changes

Then how to make the website available publicly?

After a second ping, after you verified that the translations work as
expected/the contents of your published subsite is ready. Then the
vhost will be reconfigred to have pt-br.libreoffice.org handled by the
newdesign site.

As you'll be the first NL-Project to switch, you might find places
that I did overlook when preparing the translation template though

Assuming that projects will finish one after the other, and not all at
the same time:
* to get translations from pootle exported to the site: ping me when
you're done[1]
* to make the switch from "olddesign" to newdesing: ping again, when
you're happy with the content.

ciao

[1] I copied those who have 100% translated in website project, as
that is what was easiest to tell whether newdesign translation was
complete: es, fr, id, pt & pt-BR - for the newdesign site, only the
"newdesign.po" file is relevant, the other ones are not used.
for those who make use of offline translation: There was one enlgish
string change that I retrofitted to the translations - <a
href='#change'> was replaced by <a href='{curr_page}#change'>

Hi Olivier, *,

1)In pootle but not in SilveStripe

LibreOffice 4.2 is available for the following operating
systems/architectures:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/pt_BR/website/translate/newdesign-pt_BR.po#unit=49096606

[...]

Thanks - a bug/quirk in the conversion tool from po to yaml . Strings
that are of the form
msgstr ""
"string string string"
"string string string"

(i.e. those that are not on the same line as the msgstr get lost. In
other words: all the longer ones - I need to run it through msgcat
first. (done)

Will look at those tomorrow.

I've added the process to the wiki page, thanks

2)The green boxes in the download page are not translated. These boxes
are in the top right of the page and has the following strings:

Those are link labels that also very likely need to have their
link-target editable (as so NL-projects can choose their own
url-segments.
I'll need to create a custom DB-Type for that (and the other links
where currently you have to type in the URL-Segment instead of
choosing the page from a list).

In other words: These then will be translatable/Settable in the
backend, not as part of the translation files. But need to write and
test that first, but should be done by Friday.
