Pootle dowload files glitch?

Hi pootle admins

I tried to download lo-build-pt_BR.po in order to work offline, but pootle complains that /var/www/Pootle/po/libo33/lo-build-pt_BR.po does not exist, although I can translate it on-line.

A glitch in the configs?

The link was invoked in the page (with admin rights)

Hi Olivier,

the file indeed did not exist, and I think it's because of the problem we had with that file being also assigned to Breton language, which caused me to delete it and then restore it, and I guess I did not restore it fully...

I think I did it now though, and it should work.

however, I got a truncated? file with 377 messages instead of the mentioned
1480 messages.

No, you're just confused by numbers a bit. :slight_smile:

In your file, 1480 WORDS need attention. Total count of MESSAGES is 377 in all languages.

I consider mentioning the word count to be silly. The gettext application
msgfmt shows messages (translated, untranslated and fuzzy).

Having both counted (words and messages) is non-silly :wink:

Say I have a file with 4 untranslated MESSAGES but 200 WORDS, and another one with 200 untranslated MESSAGES but 300 WORDS; I might choose different CAT-tools for translating.
Possibly I'd attack the former with OmegaT and the latter with Lokalize/KBabel/PoEdit or whatever.

Most of the tools count primarily the MESSAGES, but the WORD-count is also nice to have.
