Pootle proposes old incorrect translations

Hello,

In the Basque translation "pivot-table" is now always translated as "taula
dinamiko", but in the past it was translated in several different ways like
"pibote-taula" or "errotazio-taula".

Nowadays you won't find a single instance of "pibote-taula" or
"errotazio-taula" if you search the whole project in Pootle, however Pootle
keeps suggesting those in the "similar translations" and not the currently
accepted "taula dinamiko"

I'm afraid that this is happening also with other translations, it proposes
deprecated translations instead of the current choices.

This is very confusing, and dangerous, there are many new strings to
translate and the first suggestion gets automatically copied, it's easy to
reintroduce mistakes that were already corrected.

I have been told that this is because of the way translation memories work
in Pootle, so I understand that this is not something easy to fix in the
short term.

It's a problem with the offline TM (in Virtaal too), there's no way of editing the TM, not even just deleting stuff, which reduces the usefulness of the program the longer you use it. I think mainly they're (the Pootle/Virtaal people) under-resourced, they know this is a problem. Perhaps if there was someone to volunteer to improve that aspect?
