[pootle] Templates updated for 4.2.0 (string freeze)

Hi *,

as already mentioned in the other thread, this week marks English
string and UI freeze for 4.2.0, thus I updated the templates on pootle
(but did only update German and Afrikaans libo_ui projects to test the
process re obsolete/removed files)

So please update against templates soon

As previously it was requested to offer an idea what changed between
the two updates, here's a diff that shows the differences.

removed those obsolete files:
libo_ui/templates/android/sdremote/res/values.pot
libo_ui/templates/sdext/source/minimizer.pot
libo_ui/templates/sdext/source/minimizer/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office.pot
libo_ui/templates/sdext/source/minimizer/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/extension.pot
libo_ui/templates/sw/qa/tiledrendering.pot

Added files:
libo_ui/templates/dictionaries/lo_LA.pot

of November:

Hi *,

[...]

Hello, Christian, and thanks for update,

However when I am trying to update Kazakh language, it says
"Error while updating translation project against latest templates."

You can check by yourself, if required.

Thanks again

Hi,
I got the error too while updating the Danish (da) files.
Now I have 732 untranslated strings (zero before the update).

Now I'm a little worried that I miss something?

Could you check please.

Hi Cloph, all,

So I update, didn't get any error message, but it seems now that French
is replaced by Ukrainian (not sure exactly  in cui (fuzzi = 3201)
It seems it's the only file affected.

Cheers
Sophie

Hi Sophie,

Try another update. That issue didn´t happen to me.

Hi Baurzhan, *,

Hello, Christian, and thanks for update,

However when I am trying to update Kazakh language, it says
"Error while updating translation project against latest templates."

You can check by yourself, if required.

Can confirm from commandline - it is the same problem Andras did hit
back in LO 3.x days:
http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/msg04164.html

Coincidence or not, but it stopped first in cui - the project that
causes some messup in other langs - maybe there's some broken
string/translation that seriously confuses pootle.

2013-12-19 10:01:06,550 DEBUG Cache miss for
/var/data/pootle/www/pootle/translations/libo_ui/kk/cui/uiconfig/ui.po
2013-12-19 10:01:07,502 DEBUG Updating /kk/libo_ui/cui/uiconfig/ui.po
2013-12-19 10:01:11,364 ERROR Failed to run update_against_templates
over /kk/libo_ui/:
Unit matching query does not exist.

Also strangely enough, just running the command again did process
further, but still did abort with the useless (as it doesn't give
/any/ clue about what unit, what file, template or
languageproject,....) error message "Unit matching query does not
exist."

2013-12-19 10:09:13,703 DEBUG Updating /kk/libo_ui/sc/uiconfig/scalc/ui.po
2013-12-19 10:09:17,174 ERROR Failed to run update_against_templates
over /kk/libo_ui/:
Unit matching query does not exist.

So I did ran it again and then it completed.

So please double-check cui and sc/uiconfig

Hi Leif, *,

Did run update_against_templates from the commandline and got no error
- so probably same as in Kazakh project where just running it twice
(or three times) magically solves the problem. No idea what went
wrong.

The string count looks plausible/is in the correct order of magnitude
$ grep ^+msgid /tmp/libo_ui.diff |wc
    192 1031 7430

i.e. the msgid lines have 1031 "words", substract the ~200 that is the
word "msgid" itself, and that leaves 800ish or so words that are in
changed strings.

Hi Sérgio, *,

The 450 words for ui sound a little less, that means you did update
already early December, when there was the confusion about who updated
the templates, right?

But for help I got 0. Something must be wrong cause in your diff there are
new/changed strings for help files.

Indeed - I actually forgot to update the help files. Sorry for that.

The first string is "Түзету" - and that is from Kazakh, so apparently
french project "grabbed" Kazakh translation and then made kk update
fail?? (wild guessing/speculating/looking for at least some hint of
whats going on)

Like last time kk took parts of Greek - still puzzled...

Hi Martin,

I also reply to the list, as clarifying stuff for everyone...

does this mean that string freeze is already in effect

Yes, it is already in effect, see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2#4.2.0_release

or it will be in
effect one of these days? Just need to know when to ask Andras to create
updated pot files.

No need for Andras to do the same thing I already did.

Hi Sérgio, *,

No problem. Tell us when done.

Did so once I read your mail - I did copy the files to the server
already, just forgot to replace the file in pootle's directory..

Hi *,

[...]
So please update against templates soon

In case pootle should misbehave and replace your translations by
another language in some files, please reupload the corresponding po
files from
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/translations/tree/source?id=libreoffice-4.2.0.1

(or your local backup)

Christian

Hi Zeki, *,

I've never been able to complete an update against templates in Turkish
project. Always having a server reset in help and Error message in UI.

No problem from commandline. So either some error in Kazakh blocked
the other langauges, or it was another instance of "just run it
multiple times and it will auto-fix".

Also there are lots of fuzzy strings with Spanish translations in Turkish
prj UI -> in cui/uiconfig/ui.po

Hmm. cui again. No idea what is so special about that file, and
whether it is related to Kazakh having Greek last time (and still
effects from that problem), or whether it is completely unrelated.

Btw we had ama-gama server suggestions but i cannot see for some time.

Hi Martin, *,

Yes, it is already in effect, see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2#4.2.0_release

I do know that wiki page - the plan talks about weeks and does not state a
precise date nor is it clear if the planned target week has been met.

It has been explained in more detail in the other thread
http://www.mail-archive.com/l10n@global.libreoffice.org/msg07148.html

Short: Deadline always Monday, Action taken on Tuesday, builds for
early-testing on Wednesday, public/on mirrornetwork on Thursday or
Friday.

Because of labeling my translations and templates with a date when the
templates were made I ask you of the precise date you created the templates
(today or yesterday?). Thanks.

On Tuesday, before doing the libreoffice-4.2.0.1 tag - at around 14:00

> My translation system does not treat help separately so I presumed this help

zip is just the zip of the helpcontent2 folder, but I see the paths are not
the same (auxiliary.pot should be in "/helpcontent2/source/" and the rest of
the zip in "/helpcontent2/source/text"). So this means my system can't
proces the arhive automatically as it is programmed to update translations
and deliver them in a single zip, I will have to do it manually.

Well - if it really is too much of a burden to copy the files yourself
before running your update-scripts, I can provide a tarball with the
complete pots - but really doing

mkdir -p libo_ui/helpcontent2/source/text
mv libo_help/auxiliary.pot libo_ui/helpcontent2/source/
mv libo_help/* libo_ui/helpcontent2/source/text

Is not too complicated?

Looks the same for pt-BR

Just upload your previous cui file by overwriting the Pootle one or
grab it from git and run the update after. It works for me

https (if locamotion.org supports https)

Will be highly appreciated. We have not much time and it is easy with it.

Currently it doesn't support https, so I cannot change the URL - but
you can tell your browser to allow loading it.

The translation deadline is RC2 right?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2

There's a bughunting planned with RC2, so it would make sense to have
most of the translations in there. But there's no limit for
translations, as for RC3 the translations will be taken from pootle
and added to the builds as well.

But if you want your updates in 4.2.0 RC2, make sure to add them to
pootle on Monday, Jan. 06. I'll export the translations from pootle on
Tuesday.

Same for RC3: Commit your changes til Monday of the listed week for
RC3, as I'll again pull the translations on Tuesday.
