Pootle upgrade

Hi,

I'm upgrading Pootle to the latest stable version (2.5.0) in the hope
that it will be better than it was before. It goes extremely slow, I'm
sorry for the inconveniences.

LibreOffice 4.1 translations were pulled this morning for the rc1 release.

Best regards,
Andras

Pootle is up and running again.

Regards,
Andras

Hi Andras

I'm experiencing this problem:

(1032, "Can't find record in 'pootle_app_permissionset'")

error: *cdeb0fb4aea94e22aed638c1ef58b4ba$8cc7c9256ee22a0695541e7118af1103*

Ciao

Hi Leif,

I have not uploaded those changes yet.

Good morning Andras, *,

I'm upgrading Pootle to the latest stable version (2.5.0) in the
hope that it will be better than it was before. It goes extremely
slow, I'm sorry for the inconveniences.

thanks for your upgrade

Pootle is up and running again.

is it just me, or is Pootle ... hm ... slow (I am not sure, if there
is a problem wrt searching Pootle for a string, which I discovered
at first, or if it is not possible to change strings at the moment,
or ...)? I have tried to change unit 28756664
(https://translations.documentfoundation.org/de/libo_ui/translate.html#unit=28756664)
and I am waiting for nearly ten minutes for something to happen ...
:frowning:

I am using Firefox 23.0a2 (2013-06-18) on Debian Testing AMD64, if
this is of any relevance. And I am using an 16MBit/s line here, so
there should be some faster reaction ...
Sorry for the inconvenience
Thomas.

A JavaScript deployment issue was fixed this morning. Pootle is useable
now. The problem with permissions page is still under investigation.

Cheers,
Andras

Well, I checked out the 2.5.0 tag, if the translation was not there,
then it's not there in our instance. We can, however, update
translations, but first let's make sure it is working normally.

Cheers,
Andras

Hi,

The new version is awesome, Thanks for your hard work
But there is some missing strings in the pootle project, I mean in the pootle server.
"Delete this folder..." is not translated here, but I saw that it is translated in the pootle source code. There is so

sorry for my English.

Safa

I get "Server error" when I suggest a translation.

Cheers,
Leif

New pootle has non-userfriendly icons.
For example "Approve suggestion" icon is now letter A. Ok, I can roll with that even if I'm not really sure why they changed it from "tick" icon.
But reject icon is letter "i" !?!? What was wrong with X from last version.

Second bug was present in last version also.
If english string starts with "_", for example "_Edit" and my translated string is "Ur_edi" (I try to keep same hotkeys as in english) Pootle is reporting "Starting punctuation error" for which I must go back and remove it for each string.
This wasn't case with "~".

Also, if you have english string, for example "Na_me:" (notice that underscore isn't first character in string) and I translate it by accident with underscore "Naziv:", Pottle will NOT report error.

If you can fix any of them, great! If not, I'll survive, but I'm felling better if I know I reported it.

Best regards,
Mihovil

O.K. Good luck with it

I see tick and X. Browser cache problem maybe?

Both are the consequence of the new accelerator that has been introduced
with .ui files. I patched translate toolkit on the server, and I checked
it with pofilter. I forgot how to flush check results in pootle, but
eventually the problem should go away by the next refresh.

Best regards,
Andras

How can we help to translate pootle?

Yes, it was cache. But I had same problem on all computers.
They probably changed image path to old pictures or something.

FTR, I too get server errors when visiting certain pages, such as:

Permissions pages (tried eu and lt): https://translations.documentfoundation.org/lt/admin.html
The Contributors page: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/about/contributors/

Interestingly, I didn't get the error when suggesting a translation. Perhaps our permission levels are too high?

Rimas

No, I've just tried with a normal user. Suggestion works for me. The
problem with Permission pages and Contributors page is known, and
Pootle devs are helping to find the problem.
